BRAHMAPUTRA RIVER TRAINING STUDIES, RIVER MODELLING

Assessment of damage to river training structures on all four major rivers on behalf of the World Bank in 1989. The Brahmaputra River Training Studies in 1990 was the first component of the plan and concerned the formulation of a master plan for flood alleviation and river training.

Initial involvement on behalf of the Bangladesh Water Development Board, was the assessment of the damage to existing river training structures on the preparation of outline design for their replacement. Subsequent studies involved geomorphological analyses, mathematical flow and sediment modelling, physical modelling of key sites, design and the preparation of a master plan.
